As already announced, the Attorney General of the State, Roger Mariaca, during his oath of office, to fight “with firmness” to eradicate, among others, gender violence, in the last hours implemented five new offices for the attention of victims of violence in La Paz.
The objective of prioritizing prompt and timely attention to victims of violence stems from the thousands of cases of domestic violence. Femicides, infanticides and rapes, among others. Thus, in recent days he incorporated 25 new prosecutors; 3 assistants and 6 assistants who will reinforce the work in the specialized prosecutor’s offices for gender and juvenile crimes. In addition to that of crimes against life.
“The new prosecutors’ offices will reinforce the work of facts such as femicides and infanticides. Unfortunately La Paz, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz have a high rate of femicides and infanticides. So here the designated prosecutors will do the work of immediate investigation together with the police. The protocols of attention will be complied with”, informed Mariaca.
PRIORITIZATION
This measure will prioritize attention in cases of rape of infants, children or adolescents. Also domestic violence, statutory rape, sexual abuse, human trafficking, femicide, infanticide, parricide, murder and homicide.
The five new offices will be designated two to the specialized prosecutor’s office for gender and juvenile crimes in the cities of La Paz and El Alto. Another two will be assigned to the specialized prosecutor’s office for crimes against life and one to the Analysis Unit in El Alto.
The creation of the new prosecutors’ offices was made after an inspection carried out in recent days by the departmental prosecutor Luis Carlos Torrez, where he saw the needs of the prosecutors in their daily investigative work in order to meet those needs and provide better attention to the litigating public.
