The following booklet explains what Child, Early and Forced Marriages and Unions (MUITF) are and details the risks they represent for children and adolescents, also incorporating the recent Law No. 1639, which modifies the Family Code and absolutely prohibits these unions, setting 18 as the minimum age without exceptions. The material also dismantles frequent myths and clarifies that, according to current legislation, no custom, family authorization or supposed “consent” of a minor can justify a union, since they constitute a form of violence that violates rights, affects health, interrupts education and limits the life project. The booklet provides guidance on prevention, protection and denunciation, and promotes community actions to eradicate MUITF.
