On July 3, Ipas Bolivia, through its director, Malena Morales, participated in the seminar “Prevention of Child, Early and Forced Marriages and Unions: an urgent duty of the State,” a profound and urgent space to reflect, propose and act against one of the most serious forms of violence affecting girls and adolescents in the country.

During Ipas Bolivia’s presentation, Malena Morales emphasized the need to address this issue from a human rights approach, developing comprehensive public policies that guarantee prevention, care and effective legal protection for girls and adolescents, always prioritizing their well-being, autonomy and dignity.

The event was enriched by the outstanding international participation of Sara Rodriguez, from the Inter-American Children’s Institute of the OAS, and Sofia Quiroga, from Equality Now, who shared their experience, knowledge and regional commitment to the eradication of MUITFs.

The seminar was promoted by Ipas Bolivia and Comunidad de Derechos Humanos Bolivia, with the support of the Chamber of Senators of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Coordinadora de la Mujer, Equality Now, UNFPA Bolivia and RFSU.

At Ipas Bolivia, we reaffirm our commitment to an unwavering conviction: Girls should be just girls, free from all forms of violence and coercion.
