Bogotá, Colombia – November 2025.

The International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP 2025) brought together representatives from more than 200 countries in a space for exchange on advances, challenges and innovations in sexual and reproductive health and rights. In this framework, Ipas Bolivia participated by presenting experiences developed in the country in masculinities, communication, policies and health, contributing to the international dialogue with evidence and practices built in the Bolivian context.

From the masculinities work, the implementation of the Men at Work pilot program was shared. Regarding his participation, Nilton Subia, a consultant specializing in masculinities, said: “Seeing this experience in an international space was important because it showed a different perspective. I learned that, although contexts change, we work towards common goals and solutions are strengthened when many heads think together”.

The communications area presented two initiatives: Digital Youth in Action, recognized as an outstanding experience and later presented in a panel, and Ethical Storytelling for Impact, developed together with the global team. “Listening and sharing in such a diverse space confirms that what we build in Bolivia also dialogues with global needs and trends. It has been an opportunity to make our work visible and learn from experiences from around the world,” said Communications Coordinator Wara Rojas.

The Policy area presented the progress of the study on the social determinants of child, early and forced marriages and unions in Bolivia. “It was very valuable to show the work being done in the country and share it with people from different regions and languages. This research has contributed to concrete advocacy processes and having it in a global space reaffirms its usefulness,” said policy consultant Gustavo Aguilar.

The conference also included the virtual participation of the Health team coordinator, Henry Flores, who presented results on quality of life and resilience among abortion providers in Bolivia. In addition, the Bolivian team contributed to Ipas Global’s institutional tour of portraits and testimonials.

Participation in ICFP 2025 allowed for a direct exchange with other Ipas nodes and organizations from different countries, generating a space for learning about approaches, methodologies and priorities that emerge in different contexts. This contact with international teams provided new perspectives to strengthen the work being done in Bolivia, broadening the understanding of how to address common challenges in the area of sexual and reproductive rights from diverse and complementary perspectives.

At the same time, Ipas Bolivia’s presence strengthened its role as a technical actor within the international community, allowing it to establish strategic links and learn about trends in innovation, inclusion and intersectional approaches. Participation in this global space contributed to the institutional objective of making visible the experiences developed in the country and adding to the international dialogue through evidence, practices and concrete results built from Bolivia.
