In a joint effort to improve the quality of life and defend the rights of children and adolescents in Bolivia, Ipas Bolivia and Educo Bolivia signed a letter of intent that establishes an important collaboration. This agreement will foster synergistic work aimed at the comprehensive development and promotion of the well-being of this vulnerable population.

Educo, a non-governmental organization with more than 30 years of experience in the defense of children’s rights and the promotion of quality education, works in more than 18 countries. Through more than 200 social action and humanitarian aid projects, Educo has established itself as a benchmark in the protection of the rights of children and adolescents.

The defense of the rights of this population is what unites both organizations. In this case, their joint work will focus mainly on the context of child, early and forced marriages and unions, a problem that affects thousands of girls in Bolivia. As part of this alliance, they will continue to strengthen the campaign “Neither wives nor concubines, girls are girls”, which seeks to make visible and prevent these marriages and unions. The campaign, which was launched in 2023, has had a strong impact on social networks, driven by the participation of various ambassadors who raise their voices on this important issue.

In addition, both institutions will join efforts to carry out commemorative activities on November 19, International Men’s Day, focusing on promoting healthy masculinities that protect rather than violate. This work is fundamental to building a more equitable society, where both men and women can fully develop in a safe environment.

“It is very fortunate for us to find an organization that shares with us the same visions, commitment and beliefs about how we can work to defend the rights of children and adolescents,” said Viviana Farfán, country director of Educo Bolivia.

The agreement was signed by the directors of both institutions: Dr. Malena Morales, country director of Ipas Bolivia, and Viviana Farfán, country director of Educo Bolivia, who reaffirmed their commitment to Bolivian children and adolescents.

This collaboration promises to be a significant step towards promoting the rights of children and adolescents in Bolivia, especially on urgent issues such as the prevention of child marriage and the construction of positive masculinities.
