“The Ministry of Education rejects and repudiates these facts and we will not allow them to go unpunished, we will work from the Departmental and District Directorates of Education to demand the corresponding authorities to investigate and punish according to the laws in force,” said Pary, in an interview with Bolivia Tv.
The minister referred to the recent incidents of sexual violence that occurred in the departments of Potosí, La Paz and Santa Cruz.
The last case that shocked the country is the rape of a 10 year old student in the municipality of Uncía, Potosí. The minor became pregnant and the aggressor is the principal of her educational unit.
What also outraged the population and human rights institutions about this case is that teachers in that region mobilized in favor of the accused.
“There cannot be a colleague who sponsors this type of facts, there cannot be colleagues who cover up this type of facts, nor the parents. Let’s denounce, we have to protect the students,” the minister reproached.
