Our History

Midwives trained by Ipas Bangladesh
We are a non-profit organization that has been working in Bolivia since 1998, dedicated to empowering women, young people, girls, and vulnerable populations to fully exercise their sexual and reproductive rights. Our work focuses on improving the quality of health services, preventing sexual and gender-based violence, promoting comprehensive sexuality education, and defending sexual and reproductive rights, with special emphasis on those facing social and economic barriers.

We firmly believe that sexual and reproductive health is not only a human right but also a fundamental pillar for the overall well-being of individuals and communities. Our approach is comprehensive: we work on technical capacity building for health personnel, community awareness, and political advocacy, ensuring that laws and public policies support people’s reproductive autonomy.

Throughout our trajectory, we have forged strategic alliances with local, national, and international actors, collaborating with human rights organizations, health institutions, and community networks. Thanks to these joint efforts, we have reduced maternal mortality, improved access to health services, and prevented sexual and gender-based violence in vulnerable communities.

Today, more than ever, we are committed to building a future where everyone has the power to make free and informed decisions about their reproductive health, free from violence or lack of access to essential services.
