From September 2 to 4, 2026, Ipas Bolivia held a workshop titled “Training of Trainers (TOT) on Comprehensive Care for Victims of Sexual Violence, Legal Termination of Pregnancy, and Post-Obstetric Contraception.” The workshop brought together 12 health professionals (obstetrician-gynecologists, nurses, and social workers) at three health facilities: El Alto Sur Hospital (La Paz), San Juan de Dios Hospital (Tarija), and Percy Boland Hospital (Santa Cruz), consolidating the training team and establishing a sustainable work plan for the accreditation of Competency-Based Training Centers (CCC) in Comprehensive Care for Victims of Sexual Violence.

The initiative stems from an initial assessment that identified the need to strengthen teaching materials, technological equipment, and the curriculum. To ensure its proper functioning, three fundamental technical documents were developed, reviewed, and validated: the training curriculum, the methodological guide, and the trainer’s guide—all of which are key components for the operation of the CCCs.

Armed with the methodological and technological skills they have acquired, the 12 trained professionals will lead training sessions at their respective hospitals for 50 resident physicians, ensuring care that is rights-based, compassionate, and technically rigorous.
