On February 25, in La Paz, Ipas Bolivia, with the support of the Canadian Embassy, held the Meeting for the Exchange of Best Practices against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, bringing together universities and law students to present results and strengthen access to justice for women, girls and adolescents.<\/p>\n

Representatives from the Universidad Nacional del Oriente (Yacuiba), the Universidad Mayor de San Andr\u00e9s and the Universidad Mayor de San Sim\u00f3n participated, along with Laurie Rogers, head of Cooperation of the Canadian Embassy, and Malena Morales, director of Ipas Bolivia, who highlighted the articulation between academic training and work in the territory.<\/p>\n
As part of the results, free mobile legal clinics were implemented in Yacuiba, El Alto, Sacaba and Quillacollo. The initiative provided assistance to 356 people, documented 83 cases of gender-based violence and registered 273 cases in a second phase, prioritizing women, girls and adolescents, with referrals to the Municipal Integral Legal Services (SLIM), the Child and Adolescent Ombudsman’s Office (DNA), the Public Prosecutor’s Office and health services. <\/p>\n

The meeting also included the participation of more than 80 students in legal essay contests with a gender focus and the development of a course on Human Rights and DSDR, which certified 108 academic hours and had 109 participants.<\/p>\n

El 25 de febrero, en La Paz, Ipas Bolivia, con el apoyo de la Embajada de Canad\u00e1, realiz\u00f3 el Encuentro de Intercambio de Buenas Pr\u00e1cticas contra la Violencia Sexual y la Violencia Basada en G\u00e9nero, reuniendo a universidades y estudiantes de Derecho para presentar resultados y fortalecer el acceso a la justicia para mujeres, ni\u00f1as y adolescentes.<\/p>
Participaron representantes de la Universidad Nacional del Oriente (Yacuiba), la Universidad Mayor de San Andr\u00e9s y la Universidad Mayor de San Sim\u00f3n, junto a Laurie Rogers, jefa de Cooperaci\u00f3n de la Embajada de Canad\u00e1, y Malena Morales, directora de Ipas Bolivia, quienes destacaron la articulaci\u00f3n entre formaci\u00f3n acad\u00e9mica y trabajo en territorio.<\/p>
Como parte de los resultados, se implementaron consultorios jur\u00eddicos m\u00f3viles y gratuitos en Yacuiba, El Alto, Sacaba y Quillacollo. \u201cDesde que comenc\u00e9 a participar en los consultorios jur\u00eddicos, he podido poner en pr\u00e1ctica todo lo que aprendemos en las aulas, que muchas veces se queda en la teor\u00eda y puede parecer abstracto. Aqu\u00ed logramos aplicarlo y sintetizarlo en casos reales\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3 Shirley Montoya R\u00edos, estudiante de la Universidad Mayor de San Andr\u00e9s.<\/p>
