On November 21, Ipas Bolivia and the Bolivian Active Masculinities Networks (RMAB), with the support of the Canadian Embassy, held in Sacaba (Cochabamba – Bolivia) the Fair <\/span>“Men for Reproductive Justice: Masculinities that Take Care of Themselves<\/em>“, gathering more than 1,500 people. The activity marked the beginning of the 8th Meeting of the RMAB, held from November 21 to 23 in the same municipality, promoting self-care practices, healthy masculinities, co-responsibility and prevention of violence. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Both activities were held in commemoration of International Men’s Day (November 19), with the participation of the five Bolivian Active Masculinities Networks, present in the departments of La Paz (including the El Alto network), Sucre, Tarija, Potos\u00ed (including the Llallagua network), Cochabamba and Cobija. The RMABs are networks of young activists, promoted by Ipas Bolivia for the past five years to strengthen the capacities of adolescents and youth in the promotion of healthy masculinities and the prevention of violence. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Fair “Men for Reproductive Justice: Masculinities that Care” brought together social organizations, allied institutions, local authorities and youth networks from all over the country in an interactive space that served as a prelude to the meeting. In Sacaba’s main square, information, resources and tools were provided to reflect on the role of men in Sexual and Reproductive Rights (SRR), healthy masculinities, prevention of reproductive injustices and their co-responsibility in the prevention of violence. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We received the valuable visit of Ipas Bolivia and young leaders at the Eighth Meeting of Masculinities. These types of spaces are fundamental for our municipalities, and in Sacaba we needed to work more deeply on this issue… the activities that this meeting brings are innovative, playful and really contribute to the strengthening of our men in the community. <\/span><\/em><\/div>\n

The participants visited information stands, talked with young men trained in healthy masculinities and shared experiences on responsible fatherhood, consent, prevention of sexual violence and self-care. The fair also included playful spaces with the games Men at Work and Sex\u00f3polis, as well as the projection of short films made by young people from the RMABs, materials that will form part of the Training Manual on Healthy Masculinities and Reproductive Justice, a tool that will be used by the RMABs as a tool for the development of the RMABs’ training manual on healthy masculinities and reproductive justice. <\/span>to strengthen the work of the networks.<\/em><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

With various stands and informative initiatives, we want citizens to broaden their understanding of these masculinities and to move forward from slogans to real changes in favor of reproductive justice.”<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

During the 8th Meeting of the RMAB, held on November 22 and 23, the young men delved into debates on the traditional mandates of masculinity and the impact they have on emotional ties, emotional health and participation in society. Through participatory methodologies, they expressed from their experiences the importance of building new ways of being men that do not reproduce violence or inequality. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The meeting concluded with a message of renewal and commitment. The Active Masculinities Networks reaffirmed their role as key actors in promoting equality, equity and co-responsibility. For nearly a decade, Ipas Bolivia has promoted and accompanied the consolidation of these networks, promoting spaces of transformation where young men choose to act with empathy, respect and social justice to prevent violence and other problems that affect their communities. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

El 21 de noviembre, Ipas Bolivia con el apoyo de la Embajada de Canad\u00e1 se llev\u00f3 a cabo en Sacaba (Cochabamba \u2013 Bolivia) la Feria \u201cHombres por la Justicia Reproductiva: Masculinidades que se Cuidan<\/em>\u201d, reuniendo a m\u00e1s de 1.500 personas. La actividad marc\u00f3 el inicio del 8vo Encuentro de las Redes de Masculinidades Activas de Bolivia (RMAB), desarrollado del 21 al 23 de noviembre en el mismo municipio, impulsando pr\u00e1cticas de autocuidado, corresponsabilidad y prevenci\u00f3n de las violencias.<\/p>

Ambas actividades se realizaron en conmemoraci\u00f3n del D\u00eda Internacional del Hombre (19 de noviembre), con la participaci\u00f3n de las cinco Redes de Masculinidades Activas de Bolivia, presentes en los departamentos de La Paz (incluida la red de El Alto), Sucre, Tarija, Potos\u00ed, Cochabamba, Santa Cruz y Cobija. Las RMAB son una iniciativa impulsada por Ipas Bolivia para fortalecer las capacidades de adolescentes y j\u00f3venes en la promoci\u00f3n de masculinidades saludables y en la prevenci\u00f3n de las violencias.<\/p>

La Feria \u201cHombres por la Justicia Reproductiva: Masculinidades que se Cuidan\u201d reuni\u00f3 a organizaciones sociales, instituciones aliadas, autoridades locales y redes juveniles de todo el pa\u00eds en un espacio interactivo que funcion\u00f3 como antesala del encuentro. Desde la plaza principal de Sacaba, se brind\u00f3 informaci\u00f3n, recursos y herramientas para reflexionar sobre el rol de los hombres en los Derechos Sexuales y Derechos Reproductivos (DSDR) y su corresponsabilidad en la prevenci\u00f3n de las violencias.<\/p>

\u201cRecibimos la valiosa visita de Ipas Bolivia y de j\u00f3venes l\u00edderes en el Octavo Encuentro de Masculinidades. Este tipo de espacios son fundamentales para nuestros municipios, y en Sacaba hac\u00eda falta trabajar m\u00e1s a fondo este tema<\/em>... la<\/em>s actividades que trae este encuentro son innovadoras, l\u00fadicas y realmente aportan al fortalecimiento de nuestros hombres en la comunidad\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3 Michael Carmelo Valencia Ram\u00edrez, jefe de G\u00e9nero Generacional y Familia del municipio de Sacaba, quien acompa\u00f1\u00f3 <\/em>en el desarrollo<\/em> de la feria.<\/em><\/p>

Las y los participantes recorrieron stands informativos, dialogaron con j\u00f3venes formados en masculinidades saludables y compartieron experiencias sobre paternidades responsables, consentimiento, prevenci\u00f3n de la violencia sexual y autocuidado. La feria tambi\u00e9n incluy\u00f3 espacios l\u00fadicos con los juegos Men at Work y Sex\u00f3polis, as\u00ed como la proyecci\u00f3n de cortometrajes elaborados por j\u00f3venes de las RMAB, materiales que formar\u00e1n parte del Manual de Capacitaci\u00f3n en Masculinidades Saludables y Justicia Reproductiva, una herramienta formativa para fortalecer el trabajo de las redes.<\/em><\/p>

\u201cEstamos en el Octavo Encuentro de las Redes de Masculinidades Activas de Bolivia, un espacio abierto que busca dialogar con la poblaci\u00f3n y posicionar las masculinidades saludables mediante una feria p\u00fablica. Con diversos stands e iniciativas informativas, queremos que la ciudadan\u00eda ampl\u00ede su comprensi\u00f3n sobre estas masculinidades y que avancemos de las consignas a cambios reales en favor de la justicia reproductiva\u201d, a\u00f1adi\u00f3 Nilton \u00c1ngelo, soci\u00f3logo especialista en masculinidades e integrante del equipo de Ipas Bolivia.<\/em><\/p>

Durante el 8vo Encuentro de las RMAB, desarrollado el 22 y 23 de noviembre, los j\u00f3venes profundizaron en debates sobre los mandatos tradicionales de masculinidad y el impacto que estos tienen en los v\u00ednculos afectivos, la salud emocional y la participaci\u00f3n en la sociedad. A trav\u00e9s de metodolog\u00edas participativas, expresaron desde sus vivencias la importancia de construir nuevas formas de ser hombre que no reproduzcan violencia ni desigualdad.<\/p>

\u201cEn la Red creemos que es importante que los hombres especialmente sean saludables, entendiendo la tridimensionalidad que implica ser una persona sana: salud mental, salud f\u00edsica y salud emocional. Para construir una Bolivia m\u00e1s justa, sin violencia de g\u00e9nero, necesitamos que los hombres se conozcan, trabajen en sus emociones y act\u00faen desde el respeto\u201d, afirm\u00f3 Fernando Villafuerte Zamorano, miembro de la Red de Masculinidades Activas de Tarija.<\/em><\/p>

El encuentro concluy\u00f3 con un mensaje de renovaci\u00f3n y compromiso. Las Redes de Masculinidades Activas reafirmaron su papel como actores clave en la promoci\u00f3n de la igualdad, la equidad y la corresponsabilidad. Desde hace casi una d\u00e9cada, Ipas Bolivia impulsa y acompa\u00f1a la consolidaci\u00f3n de estas redes, promoviendo espacios de transformaci\u00f3n donde hombres j\u00f3venes eligen actuar desde la empat\u00eda, el respeto y la justicia social para prevenir la violencia y otros problemas que afectan a sus comunidades.<\/p>

\u201cMe gusta que estos espacios impulsen una masculinidad nueva y alternativa, y que fomenten una convivencia m\u00e1s fraterna en nuestras familias, comunidades, trabajos y estudios. Tambi\u00e9n nos ayudan a educar a otras personas y a compartir estos aprendizajes. Eso es lo que me motiva a participar: las din\u00e1micas, el acompa\u00f1amiento y, sobre todo, el cari\u00f1o y apoyo que se siente dentro de la red\u201d, a\u00f1adi\u00f3 Osmar Ezequiel Sandoval, miembro de la Red de Masculinidades Activas de El Alto.<\/p>
