President Luis Arce<\/a> pledged to fight against violence and sexual abuse against women and children by strengthening institutional sanction mechanisms.<\/p>\n

In his message, in commemoration of the 198th anniversary of Bolivia’s independence, the president urged justice operators not to hinder the application of measures against these crimes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe regulation is not enough, but to attack the foundations of the oldest of the systems of oppression, patriarchy, so we must work from the families, in education at all levels, in addition to creating and strengthening those institutional mechanisms that allow us to prevent violence at all levels, but also to punish in an exemplary manner the commission of crimes of violence against women and children,\u201d said Arce.<\/p>\n

LAWS<\/strong><\/h4>\n

He pointed out that in addition to the laws submitted to the Legislative Assembly, such as the one to strengthen Law 348 and the one that establishes the imprescriptibility of sexual abuse crimes against children and adolescents, the Government will work on policies and regulations to correct the current deficiencies.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe call to the operators of justice, not to put stumbling blocks or obstacles in this mission that summons us all, to work hard to achieve timely justice, not to allow impunity and to show from the highest hierarchical judge to the last judicial official the will to make justice a right of the people,\u201d Arce demanded.<\/p>\n

According to data from the Ministerio P\u00fablico, so far this year 51 femicides and 11 infanticides have been registered in the country. Most of the reports of violence against women and minors occur in the family environment. <\/p>\n
