“This technical roundtable is not only a space for the exchange of ideas, but a firm step towards the creation of tools and protocols that guarantee timely, respectful and specialized care for victims of sexual aggression, strengthening the response of the justice and health system to sexual violence. We would also like to thank the support of the International Justice Mission and the Human Rights Community, who contributed to the realization of the event,” said Rocha. <\/p>\n
One of the main agreements reached during this technical roundtable was the need to strengthen inter-institutional coordination to improve medical, psychological and forensic care for victims. The importance of optimizing the forensic evaluation processes was also highlighted, as well as the continuous training of health personnel to guarantee the adequate handling of cases, always respecting the rights of the victims and the gender approach. <\/p>\n
During the activity, institutions such as the Ministry of Health, IPAS Bolivia, Autoridad de Supervisi\u00f3n de la Seguridad Social de Corto Plazo (ASUSS), Fundaci\u00f3n Sepamos, Misi\u00f3n Internacional de Justicia, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Fundaci\u00f3n Lev\u00e1ntate Mujer, Defensor del Pueblo, World Vision Bolivia, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the National Health Services Network CIES, Save the Children Foundation, Munasim Kullakita Foundation and GSN F\u00e9nix Bolivia, who contributed to the enrichment of the dialogue and the development of strategies to optimize the health sector’s response to these cases.<\/p>\n
